What's been happening at LTNS?
This term at Linking the Next Steps, we are excited to welcome our new placement students as they begin their journey with us. They are currently building their understanding of what it can look like to live and work with an invisible disability.
Through this learning, students are developing the knowledge and confidence to support greater awareness of neurodiversity within the wider community. A key focus is recognising that no two people—autistic or allistic, with or without disability—are the same. Each person is shaped by their own experiences, environment, culture, family, and identity.
We are also exploring how behaviours are often misunderstood in workplace settings. What may be seen as rudeness, disengagement, or overreaction can sometimes be a response to sensory overload, communication differences, or an overwhelming environment. By shifting our understanding, we can move away from assumptions and towards empathy, inclusion, and practical support.
At LTNS, we are proud to be supporting the next generation of workers to think differently, communicate respectfully, and create more inclusive workplaces for everyone.
Your support changes lives
Every donation helps neurodiverse individuals build confidence, develop real workplace skills, and feel a sense of belonging. Our programs welcome people from all backgrounds, including culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and LGBTIQ+ communities, because neurodiversity exists across every culture, identity, and life experience.
Donate today and help us create a more inclusive, empowered future—one step at a time.
