Welcome to Next Step Ignite!

​If you're ready to discover your strengths and connect with peers in a supportive, interactive environment, this might be your spark. Ignite is an empowering after-school program for neurodiverse youth aged 14 to 22 years old.

 

Ignite is a youth-led program run by professionals with lived and professional experience in disability, youth development, and mental health, alongside lived experience workers. The programs support each young person at their own pace, celebrating every win along the way.

 

Each Ignite term focuses on a different area of interest—from fitness and cooking, to arts and craft and social connection. Our courses are collaborative, and tailored to how neurodiverse brains best learn and thrive. Participants are encouraged to reflect, grow, and share in ways that are safe, empowering, and most importantly—fun.

 

Linking The Next Steps is proudly committed to fostering inclusion and diversity, we welcome people from all backgrounds, including CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse), First Nations and Torres Strait Islander people and LGBTQIA+.

CHOOSE YOUR PATH:

With 4 activity groups to choose from, you can choose one or more to attend, either for a 5-week period or opt in for casual sessions.

 

• Feast

  • Create easy and delicious recipes that you enjoy eating with our cooking program. Learn techniques such as knife skills, tasty food combinations and budgeting which will prepare you for any cooking journey.

• Create

  • Put on your creative hat and bring your imagination to explore expressive arts and crafts in a relaxed social environment.

• Hangout

  • A safe social space for neurodiverse people to co-create your own program and connect organically. Work in a team to flex your planning and creative skills.

• Move

  • Get your body moving with exercise. Think fun, silly and accessible games and activities that will stretch your mind and body.

WHEN AND WHERE:

The Ignite program runs for 75 minute sessions, conducted after school and on weekends.

Launching in Macedon Ranges, Bacchus Marsh, Werribee, Sunbury, and Footscray, in Term 4, 2025.

 

Please note: This course is numbers dependent- so if you’re keen, be sure to register your interest early to help it go ahead!

 

PRICING:

5 week session pass | $100 ($20 per session)

Casual session | $25

 

All proceeds from the Ignite program go towards supporting our programs for neurodiverse youth.
